R2-JEEP-2: A Joyful Encounter and a Surprise Gift

A few days ago, I showed off my Jeep Gladiator—aka R2-JEEP-2—on WPTV Morning News during Shining A Light as we talked about the Martin County PAL Jeep Scavenger Hunt. R2-JEEP-2…

I found this on my driver’s side door handle.

R2-JEEP-2 is, of course, fully committed to the Star Wars lifestyle. 🤖

Fast forward a few days…

This is not my R2-JEEP-2

This is what AI thinks my Jeep should look like.

I made a completely UNANNOUNCED and UNPLANNED appearance on the Tim & Chelsea show on New Country 103.1. Somehow, a quick visit turned into about 45 minutes on the radio.

When I finally walked back outside to R2-JEEP-2…

I had been DUCKED. 🦆

And not just any ducking. There were TWO Post-it Notes:

“Hi T.A. A token of my appreciation for you! 😐
P.S. I watch you every morning! You are a joy!”

At first, I was ELATED.

Someone watched me on TV, recognized R2-JEEP-2 and went out of their way to leave me a little gift.

Then…

I started thinking.

Wait. How did you KNOW I was going to be here?!? 😂

Did you watch me on the news… recognize the Jeep… listen to Tim & Chelsea… know where the radio station was… and then somehow put all the pieces together?

That’s either incredibly thoughtful…

or the beginning of a very low-budget Dateline episode. 😂

But I have chosen to believe the former.

Because honestly, this is exactly why I love South Florida.

Someone took the time to track down R2-JEEP-2, leave a duck and write me a note telling me that I bring them joy.

And that?

That’s pretty damn cool.

To whoever you are…

Thank you for the duck. 🦆❤️

And please know: R2-JEEP-2 and I are flattered.
